If you are going on a driving holiday, then you know how expensive it can be to rent a vehicle, and borrowing the vehicle of someone else has a whole other set of headaches to offer. You now have, thanks to the internet, a new form of auto insurance you can take out when going on a driving trip. This is called short term car insurance, which is insurance that you purchase for a vehicle you will be using for up to 28 days.

This insurance covers either cars or vans, and is offered through a great many companies. These websites can be found either through a search for ’short term car insurance’, ‘temporary car insurance’, or ‘day insurance’, through the URL if you know the website you want to look at. All of these sites will offer you the ability to choose and pay for a policy, and offer you the option of printing it out so you have a physical copy.

Because this is a temporary insurance policy on a vehicle that you do not drive regularly, any accidents that may happen while you are driving the covered vehicle will not affect the insurance premiums on your regular auto insurance, which for most of us is a bonus.
